ABOUT US

What started out as a crazy/ambitious dream between two music-loving blood brothers (multi-award winning producer, AJ Vallejo, and central Texas industry/entertainment entrepreneur, Chris Rue) to somehow integrate art production & hometown hospitality has steadily grown into one of the Midwest’s’ highly-sought after recording studios.

Located on River Road (right down the road from the Whitewater Amphitheater), our one-of-a-kind studio establishment features two studios: our Studio A Live Room & Studio B Editing Room, homestyle room & board options for up to 7 for multi-day sessions, an enclosed riverside backyard picnic & swimming/floating area complete with tubes/kayaks, full outdoor grilling patio/covered kitchen lounge and more for an exclusive artistic experience.

Gruene Studios is honored & grateful to be voted the 2025 Texas/Regional Music & Radio Awards ‘2025 Studio of the Year’ at the annual awards ceremony in Arlington, TX.

Our award-winning producer, AJ Vallejo also took home his fifth trophy for ‘2026 Producer of The Year’ w/ a stellar 2025 producing three TX/Regional Radio #1 singles, two Top 10’s & three Top 5’s, and in just the first 6 months of 2026 has already presented Gruene Studios artists/esteemed clients two #1’s and three Top 20’s currently moving up the charts.

Partnered with Gruene Studios, AJ’s RedPlay Media arm, also took home two T3R Video of the Year trophies as the director for the queen of Texas country & superfriend, Bri Bagwell. With Bri & AJ’s rigorous schedules their ‘cool excuse to hang out drink n’ make music videos’ has them wrapping their 6th music video shoot filmed on location and in post-production for her next much-anticipated single, Show Me.

Gruene studios’ GrueneLight: Kerr County Flood Relief

 

When the storms of July 2025 deeply affected our fellow Texas brothers & sisters in Kerr County and its surrounding areas, our brave local heroes at the Centerpoint Volunteer Fire Dept also suffered major damage to their station and its equipment. Gruene Studios’ GrueneLight Foundation was honored to support our good Texas neighbors and curate an all-day music concert at Chris Rue’s Gruene Grove with all proceeds & donations going to assist in repairing/replacing Fire Chief Charles Holt & his esteemed team’s station. We humbly thank them and all first responders for their heroism & hard work.
